<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical information system for selecting an appropriate medical institution to be introduced, giving supports at the time of transmitting a letter of introduction from an introducer medical institution, and giving supports at the time of sending a report of medical examination from the introduced institution. <P>SOLUTION: The medical information system comprises an introduced hospital information accumulation means for accumulating hospital information on the introduced medical institution to be introduced to a patient; a medical examination information reception means for receiving patient information from the introducer medical institution to be an introducer of the patient; an introduced hospital information providing means for selecting the introduced medical institution on the basis of the patient information; an introduced hospital decision means for receiving a decision of the introduced medical institution from the introducer medical institution; a patient introduction information providing means for creating the patient introduction information on the basis of the patient information to send it; and a transmission method selection means for enabling selection of a method of sending when sending the medical examination information at the introduced medical institution to the introducer medical institution.
