The invention relates to an optical device (1) comprising a cavity (2) whereby at least one part thereof has an ellipsoid shape with a first focal point (F1) and a second focal point (F2), said device comprising means enabling a medium to be provided, comprising components to be analyzed in the cavity at the level of the first focal point, said device also comprising means for transporting an excitation laser beam into the cavity according to a trajectory which also passes via the first focal point (F1) in order to illuminate the medium at the level of the first focal point. The ellipsoid-shaped part of the cavity has a reflecting partition with regard to light emitted by the medium in response to the excitation light beam, said device comprising means for collecting (5) the emitted light, which are located at the level of the second focal point (F2).
