<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an exhaust gas cleaning catalyst having an alkali metal-containing catalyst layer laminated on an alkali metal-hardly-containing catalyst layer, so that the HC trapping performance of the exhaust gas cleaning catalyst can be improved particularly. <P>SOLUTION: The exhaust gas cleaning catalyst has two or more catalyst layers on an integrated structure type carrier and is manufactured by laminating the alkali metal-hardly-containing catalyst layer and the alkali metal-containing catalyst layer in this order on the carrier. This method for manufacturing the exhaust gas cleaning catalyst comprises a step (1) to form the alkali metal-hardly-containing catalyst layer on the carrier, a step (2) to incorporate gel into the catalyst layer formed at the step (1), a step (3) to form the alkali metal-containing catalyst layer on the gel-incorporated catalyst layer and a step (4) to remove the incorporated gel. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
