PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent sub-blocks partitioned by a sipe from sticking each other on a tread face of a pneumatic tire having an expanded rubber layer on the tread. SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire has a block pattern, and each block is divided into narrow sub-blocks by the sipe 50. In the pneumatic tire, the tread 10 is formed of a cap rubber layer 12 made of expanded rubber outside in the radial direction and a base rubber layer 14 made of unexpanded rubber inside thereof, the sipe 50 is formed to be wide in the cap rubber layer 12 so that adjacent sub-blocks do not expand or stick in mold release after vulcanization, or is formed to be narrow in the base rubber layer 14 so as to keep rigidity of the tread.
