PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber array capable of enhancing a long-term reliability by reducing the air bubbles produced by curing shrinkage of an adhesive and reducing a stress due to the existence of air bubbles which is exerted to optical fibers and defective adhesion of the adhesive, etc. SOLUTION: The optical fiber array is made by arranging the optical fibers 4 in V-grooves formed on the surface of a V-groove substrate 2, covering the V-groove part with a cover 5 and fixing the optical fibers 4 with the adhesive 6. Therein, a hollow part 7 which penetrates the cover 5 from the side surface direction is formed in the cover 5. The hollow part 7 is filled with the adhesive 6. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
