PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain a stable ink discharge action for a long time and thereby, prevent a recording density from being deteriorated and a discharge failure from occurring even when ink having dependence upon energy is used, in the inkjet recording device which discharges the ink by giving rise to film boiling inside the ink. SOLUTION: In this preliminary ink discharge control method, the energy to be applied to an electrothermal transducer is set higher than a specific energy which is responsible for the extreme deterioration of an ink discharge rate of a recording head by controlling a voltage pulse to be applied to the electrothermal transducer during preliminarily discharging the ink. Thus broken-down dispersions accumulated on the electrothermal transducer in the ink following a normal recording operation, are thermally decomposed to eliminate the dispersions from the electrothermal transducer. Consequently, a stable foamed state can be maintained and also an ink discharge rate can be kept within a specified range. Also the inkjet recording device is provided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
