摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology of increasing the amount of light emitted in the normal line direction, that is, in the front direction of the device with the light incident surface of the transparent substrate as a reference in the electroluminescent device of a bottom emission type. SOLUTION: This is the bottom emission type EL device in which an organic EL element 3 is formed on a transparent substrate 2 and light is extracted from the transparent substrate 2 side. A transparent layer 1 having a higher refractive index than that of the transparent substrate 2 is provided on the opposite surface 2b to a surface 2a on the transparent substrate 2 on which the organic EL element 3 is formed, and a plurality of recessed parts recessed on the surface 1a side and/or protruded parts protruding to the opposite side to the surface 1a are provided on the opposite side 1b to the surface 1a contacting the transparent substrate 2 in the transparent layer 1.
