PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the instability of combustion in changing a burning capacity in a combustion device changing its burning capacity in stages. SOLUTION: In an oil spray type combustion device comprising an air supply device 1, a fuel supply line for low combustion 10 and a fuel supply line for high combustion 11, and capable of adjusting the air supply for combustion and the fuel supply, parallel parts are formed on the way of the fuel supply line for high combustion, a fuel valve for high combustion 7 is mounted on one of the parallel parts, and a fuel valve for transferring 12 and a flow rate restricting means 13 are mounted on the other side. In a case when the burning capacity is changed from low combustion to high combustion, the change of the air supply is started first, then the fuel valve for transferring 12 is controlled to be opened, then the fuel valve for high combustion 7 is controlled to be opened, and further the change in the air supply is terminated lastly, and in a case when the burning capacity is changed from high combustion to low combustion, the change in the air supply is started first, then the fuel valve for high combustion 7 is controlled to be closed, then the fuel valve for transferring 12 is controlled to be closed, and the change in the air supply is terminated lastly.
