A tube (1) is deformed from its round cross section to a slightly-elliptical cross section. In addition, grooved indentations (2) are pressed into it; these are spaced apart. This renders the tubing lumpy in form, assisting gripping. Groove spacings are 1.0-6.0 cm. Indentations are mutually-offset through 90[deg], about the circumference. The surface is peened by blasting with glass beads. A matching fastening bracket is provided.
