<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a carbon plate superior in conductivity and moldability and suitable for a fuel cell separator. <P>SOLUTION: In a first manufacturing method of the carbon plate, carbonaceous powder and water-soluble phenol resin are agitated and mixed in a polar solvent, preferably under existence of water, and the surface of the carbonaceous powder is coated by the phenol resin, and furthermore novolak resin is mixed with the carbonaceous powder, and agitation, forming, and heat treatment are applied. In a second manufacturing method of the carbon plate, the carbonaceous powder and resol resin are agitated and mixed in an organic solvent, preferably, under existence of methanol, ethanol, acetone, and then, by adding water, agitated and mixed, and the surface of the carbonaceous powder is coated by the resol resin. Thereafter, the coated carbonaceous powder is applied with forming and heat treatment. In either of the methods, a carbon plate superior in conductivity and strength and suitable for the fuel cell separator can be obtained. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
