PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein data smoothing is required as distribution on a color space in some cases, in smoothing for a gamut mapping result, and in this case, using a filtering technique is not suitable in some cases. SOLUTION: In smoothing a color signal sequence expressed by a predetermined color system, a parametric curve corresponding to the smoothness of the color signal sequence is calculated, a parameter value corresponding to a color to be smoothed is acquired from the parametric curve expression, and the acquired parameter value is applied to the parametric curve to calculate a smoothed color.
