PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that a conventional video audio output apparatus demands a user to switch settings of a format of the video audio output apparatus every time connection is changed when connection change takes place among a plurality of video display apparatuses or AV amplifiers. SOLUTION: A video audio output apparatus disclosed herein reads EDID information from connected video display apparatus or an AV amplifier at application of power to the connected video display apparatus or AV amplifier, reads ID data, and automatically sets its format to the video audio format stored at previous connection when the ID is equal to a previously read ID.
