The adjustable hinge mounting has a setting element secured to the door (8) via a fixing bolt (1) and providing a bearing surface (10) for a hinge part (5), provided with an oversized opening for the fixing bolt, allowing the hinge part to slide relative to the bearing surface and having an adjustment arm (25) which can be attached to the door in different positions. An independent claim for a mounting method for an automobile passenger door is also included.
