<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic opening/closing device for a vehicle, which is enhanced in durability, and positively activates an opening/closing member. <P>SOLUTION: The automatic opening/closing device for the vehicle is constructed such that a driving unit mounted in the interior of a door is connected to the vehicle 11 via a rod unit 22 having a driving-side rod 25 and a vehicle side rod 26, and that the rods 25, 26 are coupled together by a load limiting mechanism 28. The vehicle-side rod 26 has a ball member 41 mounted at the tip thereof, and a pair of protrusions 42, 43 arranged on the same, while the driving-side rod 25 has a pair of fastening blocks 47, 47 arranged at the tip thereof, which have releasing slope surfaces 47a, 47b, 48a, 48b for engaging with the protrusions 42, 43, respectively. The fastening blocks 47, 48 are housed inside a holder 45, and energized toward the protrusions 42, 43 by means of spring members 51, 52, respectively, and when an excessive load is applied to the door, the fastening blocks are pressed toward the protrusions 42, 43, to thereby disengage the engagement with the protrusions 42, 43, respectively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
