PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging device which enables an MTF characteristic on a periphery at a distance from an optical axis to be corrected so as to be nearly equal to the MTF characteristic in the center of the optical axis. SOLUTION: The imaging device is provided with a lens optical system 10, a CCD sensor 11, and an image processing portion 14 performing sharpening processing to an image generated by the CCD sensor 11. The image processing portion 14 performs an orthogonal conversion to the image (inputted image) generated by the CCD sensor 11, sets a parameter of a BPF to an intermediate frequency range in which enhancement of sharpening is desired, and a sharpening degree (gain) is set so that the sharpening degree (gain) of the intermediate frequency range in which the enhancement of sharpening is desired is enhanced and is proportional to square of a distance from an optical axis of the lens optical system 10.
