PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce mechanical noise caused by operation itself of a fuel injection valve. SOLUTION: This fuel injection device of an internal combustion engine generates vibration in an engine structure by impact excitation force when a needle valve 8 or a member moving together with the needle valve 8 collides with a body 7 of the fuel injection valve 2 or a member fixed to the body 7; and generates a plurality of times of collisions in the fuel injection valve 2 in one combustion cycle. The fuel injection device sets a generation time interval of the plurality of times of collisions so that a frequency minimized in excitation force by interference of the plurality of times of collisions, substantially coincides with one of main resonance frequencies of the engine structure.
