PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve smooth re-acceleration and start of a vehicle after the rotating speed of a primary pulley or a secondary pulley is a limiting detected value or lower. SOLUTION: A continuously variable transmission has the primary pulley, the secondary pulley, and a power transmission element mounted between these pulleys. A shift ratio is controlled by adjusting primary pressure to be supplied to an oil chamber of a primary cylinder provided in the primary pulley. When at least one of a primary rotating speed and a secondary rotating speed is a rotation limiting value or lower detected by a sensor and it is no longer detected, the computation of the shift ratio is stopped and the primary pressure is set to be lower than in normal control. Thus, the shift ratio is the maximum to achieve smooth acceleration of the vehicle during re-acceleration. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
