<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of suppressing variations in writing densities of LED heads and forming stable images, and also method for correcting the light amount. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is provided with an image retainer 1 for retaining a toner image, an image writing unit 3 having a plurality of LED heads 31 for forming an electrostatic latent image on the retainer 1, a developing unit 4 for developing the electrostatic latent image using a developer, formed by the image writing unit 3, a lighting controller 24 which controls light intensity on/off of the plurality of LED heads 31, a patch formation controller 23 for forming patches on the image retainer 1 by using the respective LED heads, a density detector 25 for detecting the densities of the patches formed by the patch formation controller 23 and a correction controller 26 which corrects the light amount of the LED heads by the value detected by the density detector. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
