Filter assembly

An industrial filter has a cylindrical insert (3) within a housing (2). The filter is subject to radial fluid flow transverse to the filter longitudinal axis. The filter raw fluid side has a fluid inlet, and the pure fluid side has an outlet for the filtered fluid. The filter insert is a ceramic foil (6) with an array of pores each not greater than 5 m. The self-supporting ceramic foil is cleaned as required by a wiper/scraper assembly and rests on a perforated metal cylinder.
