A temperature sensor, notably for measuring elevated temperatures on motor vehicle, comprises a casing consisting of a metal tube in which is lodged a thermistor. The thermistor comprises an oxygen rich material placed in the inner volume of the sensor, and able to release some oxygen atoms during the oxidation of the internal surface of the metal tube.
