MAGNETIC HEAD ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent adverse effect even when a magnetic head actuator assembly is positioned near a magnetic head. SOLUTION: The magnetic head actuator assembly comprises a photointerrupter 111 for which a gap is provided between a light emitting means 112 and a light receiving means 113, and a light shielding plate 120 which is moved back and forth in a prescribed direction through the gap and provided on a voice coil motor side so as to shield light projected from the light emitting means 112 for the light receiving means 113. The photointerrupter 111 is provided on a head holder 32 and the light shielding plate 120 extends into the gap between the light emitting means 112 and the light receiving means 113.
