A separator excelling in reliability and corrosion resistance; and a process for producing a separator, which process realizes enhanced productivity and high yield. Separator (1) comprises separation part (13) for separating hydrogen gas and oxygen gas flow channels from each other and a seal part disposed at a peripheral portion so as to prevent the leakage of hydrogen gas and oxygen gas. In the separation part (13), resin layer (31) is provided on metal thin sheet (30), and the resin layer (31) is furnished with gas flow channels. This resin layer can be provided through a technique of printing with a conductive ink followed by hardening, or a technique of subjecting a conductive green sheet or conductive slurry to stamper forming followed by hardening.
