A polydepsipeptide which combines temperature responsiveness with biodegradability and is suitable for use as a medical material. The polydepsipeptide is represented by the general formula (I): [Chemical formula 1] (I) (wherein R<1> represents C1-6 alkyl, hydroxylated C1-6 alkyl, or C1-6 alkyl substituted by C1-3 alkoxy; R<2> represents hydrogen or methyl; x is an integer of 4 or larger; y is an integer of 0 or larger; and n is 1 or 2). Also provided is a use of the polydepsipeptide.
