PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily cope with a request for aesthetic appearance in the hydraulic shock absorber of a vehicle. SOLUTION: In the hydraulic shock absorber 10 of a vehicle, an annular support member 60A is provided at the lower portion of a part in which an annular mounting member 16 of a piston rod 12 is fixed, and a case cover 70 is detachably provided at the periphery of the annular mounting member 16 and the annular support member 60A. The case cover 70 comprises a mounting section 71 for covering the external profile of the annular mounting member 16, and a cylindrical section 72 extended to the axial lower portion more than the annular support member 60A while covering the outer periphery of the annular support member 60A.
