PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for correcting errors which performs processings associated with error correction on a relatively small circuit scale and at a high speed. SOLUTION: The device comprises a buffer memory 1 for storing product codes of n2 lines and n1 rows, an error-correcting part 5 for correcting errors for four code lines simultaneously in parallel, and a bus control part 2 which reads codes for four lines of the product codes from the buffer memory 1 and transfers it to the error-correcting part 5, when an error is corrected in the direction of C1. The bus control part 2 reads four codes arranged consecutively for each line and transfers them to the error-correcting part 5. It repeats this four-line and four-row transfer performed in turn for each of the four lines, by shifting by four codes in the direction of the line. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
