PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL device of which a cathode can be surely divided without causing cost increase. SOLUTION: On the organic EL device 21A having a light-emitting layer 29 made of organic EL on a light-emitting area 27 partitioned by banks 26 formed into a lattice-shape, and a cathode 30 formed by turning a cathode material 30a into a film on the upper surface of the light-emitting layer 29, groove parts 26a separating the cathode material 30a adhering on the banks 26 are formed between the banks in a longitudinal direction.
