PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molecular layer structure of an interfacial electron transfer catalyst which enables even the molecular device development for optical energy conversion and which has a molecular layer of an Si-C conjugation, and a method for its formation, and a method for optical energy conversion. SOLUTION: The molecular layer structure of the interfacial electron transfer catalyst is a molecular layer structure constructed through a conjugation of Si-C (Carbon) on a silicone surface, and provided with a counter anion as well as an electron transfer catalyst function part having one or two or more 4,4' -bipyridyl groups.
