PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pulse pressure sensor which can accurately detect a pulse pressure since the artery in vivo is not easy to slip off from a pressure surface of an artery pressing section and can miniaturize an apparatus, and a pulse pressure measuring apparatus which can measure even the carotid artery. SOLUTION: The pulse pressure sensor 1 to detect a pulse pressure of the artery in vivo 201 as an electric signal from a body surface includes a pressure sensing element 11, the artery pressing section 12 to press the artery in vivo 201 which is attached to the center part of one side 11a of the pressure sensing element 11, a pair of artery fixing tables 13 and 13 which are attached parallel to each other in a direction of the artery on the one side 11a of the pressure sensing element 11 at both the sides of the artery pressing section 12, a dead block 14 having an opening 14a at the center part on which the pressure sensing element 11 is attached and a base 15 on which the dead block 14 is attached.
