<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a signal transmission device capable of establishing the security of laser light and enabling power saving. <P>SOLUTION: In an electric-light converting circuit 36A, a laser diode 26A is controlled by a laser diode driver 106 on the basis of a TMDS signal. The turning-on of the laser diode 26A compels light emission to be forcedly interrupted by a laser interruption control unit 102 on the basis of a signal from a TMDS signal detecting unit 100 and a reception state signal (LOP signal) from a reception module 14. Namely, the laser diode 26A is immediately interrupted when the TMDS signal is outputted and the LOP signal is in a low level, because a light signal does not arrive at the reception module. When the LOP signal is in the low level and the TMDS signal becomes a beginning state of a TMDS signal outputted from a non-output state of the TMDS signal, the TMDS signal can be made to be outputted via a light signal by temporally neglecting the LOP signal and emitting the light from the laser diode 26A. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
