AGE/SEX DISCRIMINATION DEVICE, AGE/SEX DISCRIMINATION METHOD AND PERSON RECOGNITION DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an age/sex discrimination device which can raise accuracy of age discrimination and improve a certainty factor of sex discrimination.

SOLUTION: A face area is detected by a face area detection section 12 from a face image inputted by an image input section 11, and feature information on a face is extracted in a face feature extraction section 13. An individual face feature creation section 14 creates individual face feature information of all ages according to sex beforehand and holds it in a face feature holding section 15 together with the information on an age and sex. A collating operation section 16 collates the face feature information extracted by the face feature extraction section 13 and the individual face feature information in the face feature holding section 15 and finds a degree of similarity. A discrimination section 17 discriminates age and sex of the person concerned from information on degree of similarity outputted from the collating operation section 16 and the information on age and sex attached to it and the discrimination results are outputted from a result output section 18.
