PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the deterioration of quality of fiber channel signals that match the mounting positions of disk drives. SOLUTION: A first data relay 20a and a third data relay 20c are positioned between a plurality of first disk drives 41 and a plurality of third disk drives 43. A second data relay 20b and a fourth data relay 20d are positioned between a plurality of second disk drives 42 and a plurality of fourth disk drives 44. First, second, third and fourth looped data transfer paths of the plurality of first, second, third and fourth data relays, and lines of the plurality of first, second, third and fourth data transfer paths for connection to the plurality of first, second, third and fourth disk drives are perpendicular to row directions.
