PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an auxiliary rotation type starter having a simple structure, reduced number of parts, and excellent meshing property of a pinion and a ring gear. SOLUTION: This auxiliary rotation type starter 1 is constituted in such a way that it is provided with an electromagnetic switch 8 having a plunger 11 for generating attraction force for moving the pinion 7 to a ring gear 13 side by carrying current to an attraction coil 9 and a holding coil 10 and the pinion 7 is rotated and driven by a motor 2 in which current is carried through the attraction coil 9 when the pinion 7 and an end face 13a of the ring gear 13 are mutually abutted and do not mesh. The attraction coil 9 of the electromagnetic switch 8 is constituted by connecting a first coil 15 and a second coil 16 in series. The second coil 16 suppresses attraction force for attraction force generated in the plunger 11 by carrying current to the first coil 15 and the holding coil 10. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
