PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of surface damage even if supply of engine oil can not catch up with at a time right after operation start of the engine or sudden acceleration and deceleration of the engine. SOLUTION: A carbon compound layer which is a surface treatment layer for friction reduction is formed on an outer circumference surface of a shaft 5. The carbon compound layer consists of a chromium metal layer, an inclined layer which is a composite layer consisting of chromium and carbon, and plastic deformation hardness by the microhardness test of the carbon compound layer is set to 15-58 GPa.
