<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalog production support device for improving the efficiency and precision of a catalog producing process and reducing the cost. <P>SOLUTION: In a commodity catalog producing process, a commodity list showing commodity names in the order of posting on a catalog is prepared. The commodity list includes information for commodity names, category names, and reference posting sizes for every commodity. A computer calculates and outputs page layout output data 37 for pages of the catalog based on conditions of catalog formation (the total page number, the page number by categories, etc.) and the commodity list. The page layout is automatically calculated, for every category, by use of random numbers from on the relation between the page number occupied thereby and the number of commodities to be posted therein. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
