<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a starting device of a fuel cell system superior in durability by oxidizing and corroding carbon of an oxidant pole and preventing lowering of performance of a stack. <P>SOLUTION: A starting device of a fuel cell system has a composite membrane electrode assembly with a gas diffusion electrode equivalent to a fuel electrode and an oxidizing agent electrode being arranged on both sides of a polymer membrane, respectively, and a fuel cell with unit cells provided in parallel and laminated repeatedly, equipped with a pair of separators that receive electromotive power from the composite membrane electrodeassembly, arranged on the both sides of the composite membrane electrode assembly. The device includes an energizing means (step S11, step S12) for causing electric current supplied from the separators to flow in a plane direction of the separators through a contact with the fuel cell, and reactant gas feeding means (step S14) for feeding a reactant gas and causing a power generation to start, after energizing the electric current across the separators for the predetermined time by the energizing means when the fuel cell is started. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
