A device for the opening and closing of locks has a handle on one side and a lock member on the other side, the lock member being mounted in a guide so as to be movable between an open position and a closed position. The lock member and handle are connected to one another via a transmission member, in such a way that the lock member can be moved between the open position and closed position by means of an axial movement of the handle. So that the risk of injury when a bonnet is being closed is appreciably reduced and also force transmission under restricted conditions of space is possible, the transmission member (8) has two catch devices (21, 29; 33, 40) for fixing in its two end positions.
