PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device which allows laser annealing to be easily performed to obtain a uniform satisfactory image. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device is provided with; a TFT 102 for analog switch connected between a pixel potential supply line 101 and a signal line 3; a signal line potential detection circuit 2 which detects the potential of the signal line 3 in a signal line potential detection mode of not only giving a prescribed potential to the pixel potential supply line 101 but also making the TFT 102 conductive to detect the potential of the signal line 3; and a data correction circuit 11 which corrects an image signal on the basis of the potential of the signal line 3 detected by the signal line potential detection circuit 2, in a display mode of displaying an image. Consequently, the variance of characteristics of the TFT 102, which is caused by an influence of laser annealing is compensated. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
