PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for dissolving fullerene and an apparatus therefor to dissolve soluble fullerene in fullerene-containing soot into a solvent. SOLUTION: The dissolving apparatus 10 for fullerene has a dissolving tank 18 reserving a solvent to dissolve fullerene, a discharging section 50 having holes of a small diameter to blow a pneumatically transported fullerene-containing soot 13 with a carrier gas into the solvent, and a stirring vane 21 disposed inside the dissolving tank 18. The method is carried out by using the above dissolving apparatus 10 and by blowing the carrier gas mixed with the fullerene-containing soot 13 as bubbles of small diameters into the solvent to dissolve the soluble fullerene in the fullerene-containing soot 13 into the solvent while dispersing an insoluble component of the fullerene-containing soot 13 in the solvent.
