PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hand dryer which can prevent the negligence of the attachment of an air filter from occurring. SOLUTION: A hand insertion section 3 which is constituted as a recess-like space is jetted with a high-speed air stream, and moisture sticking to the hand which is inserted in the hand insertion section 3 is blown away, and the moisture is accumulated in a drain container 8 from a draining port 7 which is provided on the bottom of the hand insertion section 3 for this hand dryer. In the hand dryer, the drain container 8 is constituted to be detachable by making it freely removable/attachable, and an air inlet 12 for taking in air for forming the high-speed air stream is provided behind the drain container 8. The air filter 13 is detachably provided on the air inlet 12, and the drain container 8 is received and supported by the receiving surface 14 of the frame section of the air filter 13.
