A method for optimized use of driving secondary units in motor vehicles, especially a generator driven by the combustion engine via which the vehicle electrical system can be supplied with electrical current. A drive management system is used to calculate a drive/delay power trajectory and on the basis of this, in the drive mode of the vehicle, between a brake drive below a thrust characteristic, a full load operation and an intermediate part load operation is differentiated, and that by means of a control algorithm operating in conjunction with the drive management system, the generator is operated initially in braking mode of the vehicle with a generator load lying in the high load zone. Secondly, in the part load drive of the vehicle, when at a respective scanning time point (Ti) a fuel demand required for generating the current, lies above a reliable maximum value, the generator is driven in a low load range. In full load operation of the vehicle, the generator is driven with a generator load lying in the low load zone. An independent claim is included for a device for optimized drive of secondary units in motor vehicles. |
