PIXEL CIRCUIT AND ITS DRIVING METHOD, ACTIVE MATRIX SYSTEM, AND DISPLAY ARRANGEMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide constitution in which an input signal is never caused to decrease in gain for a pixel circuit with an added function of compensating characteristic variation of a load element and variation in threshold of a transistor.

SOLUTION: A threshold canceling circuit detects the threshold of a drive transistor 111 in advance and makes an additional hold capacitor C112 holds a potential needed to cancel its influence. A bootstrap circuit detects characteristic variation of a load element 117 and automatically adjust the level of the signal potential held by the hold capacitor C11 so that its influence is canceled. A sampling transistor 115 writes a signal Vsig inputted from a signal line DTL101 directly to the hold capacitor C111 not through coupling between the additional hold capacity C112 and a capacitor component including the gate capacitance of the drive transistor 111.
