PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strobe device having a plurality of connection parts, wherein a high voltage is prevented from being generated in terminals of unused connection parts. SOLUTION: A CPU 14 decies whether light emitting parts 4a, 4b, and 5 or caps 3a to 3c are attached to some of a plurality of connection parts 2a to 2c of the strobe device or not through detection switches 6a to 6c. Furthermore, the CPU 14 decides whether at least one of light emitting parts 4a, 4b, and 5 is attached to some of the plurality of connection parts 2a to 2c of the strobe device or not through a light emitting part attachment detection circuit 13. The CPU 14 controls charge/discharge of a strobe capacitor in a light emission control circuit 11 and controls an operation state of the strobe device, on the basis of decision results.
