There are provided an encryption/decryption system and an encryption/decryption device capable of suppressing the affect of load to a computer operation, having a high security based on an extreme difficulty to guess the encryption method, and eliminating the complexity of key management and key input. A security key (10) performing encryption and decryption according to a random number generated by a thermal noise random number generator (10e) is detachably mounted on a personal computer (11). When the security key (10) is mounted, data (11b) operated in the personal computer (11) is automatically encrypted or decrypted. That is, since the encryption/decryption device using the thermal noise random number generator is detachably mounted on the computer, it is possible to use it like key operation and assure a high security.
