DECELERATION CONTROL DEVICE OF VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deceleration control device of a vehicle for controlling deceleration of the vehicle so as to utilize both advantages of control of a braking device for generating braking force on the vehicle and gear change control for relatively changing gear of an automatic transmission to a change gear stage or a change gear ratio for a low speed. SOLUTION: The deceleration control device of the vehicle controls deceleration of the vehicle on the basis of a distance between the vehicle and an obstacle including a forehand vehicle before the vehicle. The deceleration control is executed by actuation of the braking device 200 for generating the braking force on the vehicle and change gear operation for relatively changing gear of the transmission 10 of the vehicle to the change gear stage or change gear ratio for the low speed. The device is provided with a target deceleration setting part for obtaining a target deceleration the vehicle must decelerate on the basis of the distance, and a change gear stage/change gear ratio selecting part for selecting the change gear stage and the change gear ratio giving the deceleration lower than the target deceleration to the vehicle as the change gear stage or the change gear ratio of the transmission in the change gear operation.
