<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fastening method and a fastening structure for fastening in which a low-cost screw is used without using a special fastening device or tool to restrict cost, and in which a gap conventionally generated after fastening is eliminated to prevent relative position change between both members by aging. <P>SOLUTION: In this fastening structure 10, a first and a second members 11 and 12 are fastened to each other. A hole 17 is formed in the second member 12, and a cylindrical projection 14 is integrally formed with the first member 11. The cylindrical projection 14 is inserted into the hole 17, and in this inserted state, to the cylindrical projection 14, a fastening member 13 having a screw part 13c larger than the smallest inner diameter of the projection and smaller than the diameter of the hole 17 in the second member 12 is driven in its axial direction. As the fastening member 13 is thus driven into the cylindrical projection 14, the cylindrical projection is swollen diametrically outward, so that the outer circumferential surface of the cylindrical projection is pressed against the circumferential wall of the hole 17 in the second member. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
