PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joint device for a floor of which the passage of the joint does not get narrow even if both buildings vibrate back and forth in mutually different directions and the joint plates do not get heavy and smoothly move slidably. SOLUTION: The joint devices 1A, 1B for a floor are constituted of a support recess 9 with almost two times as much as the distance L of a joint formed on a floor face in a position, where a passage 4 and external walls 5, 5 are formed, formed by inner walls 3, 3 at the joint 2 side of a building 6, a guide rail 11 fitted to the floor body 8a of the joint side of the other building 8, a joint plate 13 where the front end part is movably supported at the almost central part of the support recess 9, a cover plate 15 covering the front end and the support recess 9 of the joint plate 13, a pinion 24 fitted to the position near the rear end of the joint plate 13, a joint side floor body 6a of one building 6 engaging with the pinion 24, and a center-retaining mechanism 16 provided with a pair of lacks 27, 27 pivoted by the joint side floor body 8a of the other building.
