PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress stains in discharge on a plasma display panel with a phosphors layer including each layer of a red, a green, and a blue phosphors. SOLUTION: In a plasma display panel, in which a phosphors layer 9 coated on barrier ribs 7 satisfies the conditions: D = (S-2L)/SD≥0.64, wherein S is s distance between the ribs 7 at a spot of 1/2 height of the ribs 7, L is a thickness of a side face of the layer 9 coated on the ribs 7 at the spot of the 1/2 height of the ribs 7, and the red phosphors layer includes Y(V, P)O<SB>4</SB>:Eu and (Y, Gd)BO<SB>3</SB>:Eu, strains in discharge does not occur by adjusting and forming the thickness of the side face of the layer 9 coated on the ribs 7 in the foregoing conditions and brightness and color purity can be improved. The color purity becomes excellent and decay characteristics are improved by using Y(V, P)O<SB>4</SB>:Eu and (Y, Gd)BO<SB>3</SB>:Eu as the red phosphors. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
