Cosmetic or dermatological formulation has aqueous phase containing creatine and/or creatinine and/or creatine derivative(s) selected from the phosphate, sulfate, acetate, ascorbate and derivatives in which the carboxyl group is esterified with mono- or polyfunctional alcohols. The ratio Q of [water concentration times water activity] to the total concentration of creatine, creatinine and derivatives (measured in same units, e.g. wt.%) is 40 or more.
