[Also in Divisions B1 and F1] In a device for preheating thermoplastic materials to be fed to extrusion moulding screw presses, a pair of closely intermeshing screws 25, 26 rotate in the same direction in a vertically extending barrel 14, 15, 16 which has a supply hopper 17 opening into the lower end and an overflow port at the top end, means being provided for heating both screws. Electric resistors are provided in the hollow screws and in the heating jacket surrounding the feed opening, and a flexible sleeve 20 of heat insulating material extends from the overflow port to the extrusion machine 22.
