The cap has inner and outer lips (30, 22) cooperating with inner and outer sides of the neck of a container respectively. Main portions (27, 35) of inner and outer sides (25, 33) of the lips (20, 30) are either cylindrical or tapered and converge and diverge from their bases (23, 31) in the direction of their free ends (24, 32), respectively. The portions (27, 35) are inclined with angles (alpha , beta ) between 0 and 10 degree, respectively. An independent claim is also included for an assembly comprising a cap and a neck of the container.
